Opti-TEK Coiled Tubing Rescue Tool (CTRT)
A precision running tool designed to initiate HydraShock activation and support repeated jarring cycles downhole.
Product summary
A precision running tool designed to initiate HydraShock activation and support repeated jarring cycles downhole.
The Coiled Tubing Rescue Tool (CTRT) is designed to be pumped through the coiled tubing string to sit above the BHA on top of the Tubing End Connector (TEC). Once landed at the TEC, the CTRT functions in the same way as the HydraShock tool, but is used when the CT is stuck in one of the following situations:
- If a HydraShock sub in the BHA has become full after multiple jars (usually after pumping 50 balls). In this case, the BHA needs to be disconnected before pumping a CTRT with a ball to land on the Tubing End Connector (TEC) for jarring to continue.
- When no HydraShock sub is present in the BHA, the CTRT in combination with a ball can be pumped to land on the TEC. Jarring can now be carried out by repeatedly pumping balls. (Depending on the specific details, the BHA would normally need to be disconnected before pumping the CTRT).
