Diversity & inclusion
Hunting is committed to creating a positive workplace environment where fostering equality of opportunity for all, through diversity, ensures that our employees have the opportunity to achieve their full potential, free from prejudice and discrimination.
Code of conduct
We have developed and implemented policies and employment practices that embed a Hunting-wide culture of inclusion that incorporates all aspects of our activity and business.
We behave with integrity, promoting a culture of honesty, transparency, and fairness. Many of our practices are enshrined in our Code of Conduct, which can be found by following the link below.
Diversity
Hunting’s efforts to build an inclusive working culture helps us to drive diversity in attracting, developing, and retaining talent, particularly in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) disciplines.
Diversity considerations are also embedded in our senior management development and succession planning. Hunting launched its new Succession Planning process in 2019, which is reviewed annually. Subsequently, a variety of talent management programmes have been developed and implemented to grow and develop diverse talent for leadership and business-critical positions in the future.
Initiatives
To ensure that everyone feels valued and heard, we have developed and implemented varied initiatives
For example, our employee engagement survey, roundtable employee discussion forums, 24/7 “Speak Up” service, allows us to receive valuable and constructive feedback that will enable us to develop meaningful and appropriate actions, to ensure inclusion for all.
Constantly reviewed
Both the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee regularly review reports containing a wide range of workforce performance data including diversity, health and safety, turnover and retention, and other data.
Health & safety
Across all of its global operations, the Group is committed to achieving and maintaining the highest standards of safety for its employees, customers, suppliers and the public. Hunting has a proven culture of aiming for best practice and employs rigorous health and safety practices throughout its operations. Health and safety policies include:
Regular audit & maintenance reviews of facilities
Appropriate training & education of all staff
Regular performance reporting to board
Mandatory health & safety briefings for any person visiting any of our facilities, all of which have been standardised across the Group
Seeking accreditation and aligning long-standing internal programmes with internationally recognised standards
QAHSE
Hunting’s Global Director of Quality Assurance, Health, Safety and Environment (“QAHSE”) reports directly to the Chief Executive and a report is considered by the Board at each meeting.
The Group’s target is to achieve zero recordable incidents and each local business is required to develop tailored policies to suit their environment. These incorporate the Group’s approach to putting safety first and, at a minimum, to comply with local regulatory requirements. Training is given to employees throughout the Group.
Our Quality Management System (QMS) is certified and accredited for the globally recognised ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management) standard, and all of our facilities operate in compliance therewith.
Human rights & ethical employment
Hunting is committed to upholding the Human Rights of all our stakeholders including employees, local communities, customers and suppliers.
Our diverse workforce, and wide span of business operations, drives the Company’s approach which is based on support for human rights and dignity for all people. We guide ourselves in this respect by the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and are strongly committed to upholding the Human Rights of all our stakeholders.
Our policies
To that end, we respect the highest standards of all applicable local government labour, employment and human rights policies and laws, to ensure fair and ethical employment practices are followed.
We demonstrate our compliance through corporate regulations, including our Ethical Employment & Trading Policy, and Modern Slavery, Human Trafficking Transparency Statement.
Local practices
This is further supported by our local employment practices, including our policies on Health and Safety and Diversity and Inclusion.
We are committed to

Our communities
It is Hunting’s policy that each business segment should be an active and supportive member of the communities in which it operates.
We strive to be good neighbours, not only in respect to our contribution and involvement to community focused activities and projects, but also in support of economic opportunity and environmental stewardship. The nature of our involvement is determined by regional custom and best practice.
Community engagement
Part of the Hunting culture is the engagement of both our own community and those extended communities in which we work around the world.
A summary of our participation in community initiatives is summarised and reviewed by the Ethics and Sustainability Committee on an annual basis.
We support and are involved in a range of charitable and community projects and events in the areas within which we operate. Hunting is also involved in multiple events which are sponsored by us but driven by employees.
Some of the highlights include:
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Hunting has provided PPE, including safety masks, to both at-risk members & low-income families of various communities where we are operating.
The Hunting team in Batam (Indonesia) linked up with four local orphanages to donate food as well as computers. The team also helped the orphanages by setting up a mini hydroponic farm, providing the tools and know-how for the children to grow their own produce.
In Wuxi (China), we continue to contribute to a community blood donation drive, whilst also establishing an animal shelter for strays near the Hunting facility.
The Hunting team in Aberdeen and at the London PLC headquarters (United Kingdom), regularly organise themed events for Make a Wish, Save the Children and Crisis and/or Combat Stress initiatives. Also, as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee morning, we organise a bake sale (we bake treats and cakes (that will sell like hotcakes) for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Hunting also organises many company events for staff and their families, such as open days in the Asian facilities, as well as sporting, wellbeing and team building exercises across many locations.
All of Hunting’s Community initiatives are regularly reported in in the “Hunting review”.

Our six focus areas align with the material issues that we have identified and support our contribution to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (“SDGs”).
Our sustainability frameworks & standards
In view of increasing Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) requirements placed on businesses, we continue to evolve our sustainable business strategy, underpinning our ambition to create sustainable value and growth for all our stakeholders.
Our ambition is underpinned by sound governance, a strong corporate culture, and our sustainability framework, which brings together a number of ESG and non-financial reporting frameworks and standards, that ensures we can achieve our ambition. It also reduces risk to our operations and helps us make a positive social impact.
ESG governance
Within the context of increasing ESG governance, our six key areas of focus are:

We align with the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and we annually submit our greenhouse gas data to the Carbon Disclosure Project.
