The Hunting Slickline VariBall Cutter System provides an efficient and effective downhole wire cutter for use in high angle wells.
By combining the synergies of the VariBall rolling system and the Flopetrol rotary wireline cutter, the operating envelope in which a wireline cutter will function is further enhanced. The design offers minimised frictional drag, minimised roller contact and improves the ability to reach the fish in deviated wells, improving the success of wire retrieval operations. The system has the same operational capabilities as a standard.
Flopetrol cutter but offers the rolling capabilities of the VariBall roller system.
Different VariBall Cutter options include a range of cutter interfaces to suit 0.092” thru 0.312” wire sizes and both standard ‘one drop’ and interface ‘two drop’ type cutters.
The standard cutter should be used in vertical wells with minimum restrictions, whilst the interface cutter should be used where the fluid level is unknown or lower in the well or there are multiple restrictions within the tubing string.
Interface or ‘two drop’ cutters require the companion VariBall Go-Devil tools. Bespoke roller sizes within range available upon request.
