Our sand trap design allows to accumulate large volumes of solids in the well stream at high pressure combined with the security of the sand filter technology
The tangential inlet design supported by FEM calculations creates an improved solids separation in the vessel. The high angle speed created by this tangential inlet forces the solids particles out to the vessel wall dropping down to the bottom. To further prevent remaining solids to re-enter the flow the unit is also equipped with a filter element in the outlet section. This element can be easily removed for inspection or replacement through to flanged top section.
Optional equipment for our sand trap includes an optional sand flushing system using pressurized water injection through nozzles to be mounted on the vessel outside.
A sandbox for collection of the solids slurry exiting the 3” diameter drain valve can be added to complete the sand management set.
